Nashville, TENN ― Nashville’s culinary and cocktail scene will soon be enhanced with the opening of EG & Mc, a contemporary craft cocktail and tapas bar, set to open its doors on Saturday, July 24. Located along Historic Jefferson Street in North Nashville, EG & Mc is the latest collaboration between Clint Gray, Derrick Moore, and EJ Reed – the hospitality group behind Slim + Husky’s Pizza Beeria – and craft cocktail guru Gemaal Pratts of Aperitif.
EG & Mc will feature an array of Southern-inspired tapas (small plates) and signature cocktails. The bar’s food and beverage offerings were created by executive chef Jason Williams and Pratts. Included on the tapas menu is a Smoked Meats & Cabbage dish (where guests can select smoked short ribs, pork tenderloin or turkey sausage accompanied with braised cabbage), Hot Water Cornbread Buttered with Blackberry Jam (a Southern fav), Homemade Ice Cream and Hot Cookies by Vena Cava. Signature cocktails and spirits include the classic Southern Hospitality as well as The Gift + The Curse, a flavorful blend of green apple juice and peanut butter-washed rum.
Locals and tourists alike will recognize the bar’s location (924 Jefferson Street) as it was previously the home of the Garden Brunch Café. Dawning a new, contemporary vibe, EG & Mc will feature indoor dining, a full-service bar, a reading room as well as outdoor patio seating.
EG & Mc co-owners are excited about their new venture as the bar’s name, which stands for Educated|Gifted|Melanated Creatives, is reflective of their collective personas. “We take great pride in introducing a new, contemporary culinary concept to North Nashville, particularly along historic Jefferson Street, in the midst of not only a global pandemic, but also the community’s regentrification surge. Through EG & Mc, our goal is to offer guests a memorable experience while continuing our mission to pour back into the city’s urban core,” shared Gray.
The bar will host two private soft opening events on July 22 and 23 with the official grand opening on Saturday, July 24. Hours of operation are Tuesday – Thursday (4 pm – 1 am), Friday – Saturday (4 pm – 2 am), and Sunday (4 pm – 10 pm).
