Phase 2 to Begin in Nashville Next Week

Nashville, TN (May 21, 2020) – Mayor John Cooper announced this morning that the city will begin Phase 2 of reopening on Monday, May 25th during his COVID-19 briefing.

Saying that Nashville is ready to begin the next phase, Cooper outlined some of the conditions that will go into place next week:

  • Retail and commercial businesses can operate at 75% capacity.
  • Live music can return in a phased format with no more than 25 people in the venue.Dance floors will remain closed and only two performers will be allowed on stage at a time.
  • Nail salons, barbers shops, hair salons and gyms can now open at 50% capacity.
  • Restaurants and bars serving food may now operate dine-in service at 75% capacity. Bars that do not serve food must remain closed.

Employees at most businesses that interact with the public must be screened daily and wear masks. Additionally, all residents are encouraged to wear masks or face coverings at all times if leaving home.
