Beyond her music, she has also been a vocal advocate and influential figure within the LGBT+ community, using her platform to push boundaries and inspire change. But now, in a moment of creative urgency and transparency, she’s stepping into the spotlight with The StitchTape Vol. 1, set to drop in February 2025.
Unlike the traditional, polished debut many might expect, The StitchTape Vol. 1 is an impromptu, unfiltered project stitched together in real-time. The collection, which features the lead single “Never Let It Go,” is not about radio-ready perfection—it’s about honesty, evolution, and the courage to release something raw.

Sunny St. James describes the project as a response to years of overthinking, perfectionism, and waiting for the so-called “perfect moment.”
“I’ve sat on music for years, waiting for the perfect moment until I realized that moment doesn’t exist,” she says. “This project is me ripping the bandage off, letting people in, and being as transparent as possible. Some of it is ROUGH… LOL, hence the title. If you know, you know. I’m not for everybody, but I hope it speaks to somebody.”
The album is a sonic journey through hip-hop, R&B, and alternative influences, refusing to be confined to a single genre. Some tracks are polished, while others are unfinished thoughts—but that’s exactly the point. The StitchTape Vol. 1 is music in motion, an audio documentary of an artist embracing imperfection.
