The Nashville Voice is proud to endorse Joe Biden as the next President of the United States of America. It is of our opinion that Vice President Biden has offered the American people a progressive platform that provides solutions to the major problems facing the country. We also believe that Biden has the type of character that can restore the dignity and respect the office of the President rightfully deserves.
Speaking of character, it has been evident since Donald J. Trump was elected the forty-firth President that he was not the type of man prepared to hold the highest office in the land. During his initial campaign in 2016 it was clear that Trump lacked integrity and instead is a man whose most distinguishing features are narcissism and bigotry. During his time in office Trump has not once shown to a person who cares about the American people. He has proven time and time again that he only cares about himself and what the United States can do to help improve his own personal net worth.
During the entire presidency of Trump we have all waited for the day that he would finally step up and act “Presidential”. Instead we now live in a country with an administration that is built on lies and a cult of personality. We have a man in office who encourages racism, voter suppression, and an increase attack on those who do not agree with his view of America.
Donald Trump has dropped the ball on every possible category one can imagine, from Social Justice, to the Environment, to Health Care, and Women’s Reproductive Rights.
Even besides those issues this administration’s refusal to take the COVID-19 Pandemic seriously has lead to the death of over 230,000 Americans. At the time of election day over 9 million Americans will have been diagnosed with the virus and that number is growing at an extremely high rate. To think the narcissism of our President had led to these numbers is tragic and criminal to say the least.
While some voters continue to feel that Biden is just the “better of two evils” we do not believe that to be the case. We feel that Joe Biden deserves to be President not only because he has a track record of using his time in Government to make a difference. He is also a man who is not afraid of criticism, this has been proving in his selection of California Sen. Kamala Harris, as his running mate. Harris was one of his harshest critics during the primary season and Biden choosing her shows he is prepared to have real partnerships in governing America.
It is in our opinion that at this time in our country’s history we need someone with experience in Government and in leading people in the right direction. We believe that Joe Biden is the man for that job.
